What Defoamer is
Silicone-based powder defoamer breaks the air that mixing and pumping drag into a mortar. Dosed into the dry blend, it releases that air before the mix sets — which is what stops the pinholes and pitting on a self-levelling floor, in a grout or on a repair patch.

What does a powder defoamer do in self-levelling compound?
It takes out the air that mixing and pumping drag into the mix, which is what leaves pinholes and pitting on a finished levelling floor. The silicone active breaks the foam bubbles so the air escapes before the compound sets; without it the bubbles sit at the surface and open up after the floor has hardened.
How is a powder defoamer dosed into a dry blend?
Dose it into the dry blend with the other additives — it needs no liquid dosing line, no solvent and no separate tank. Because it is a powder it can be weighed with the rest of the premix on the same batch sheet, so the dosing station does not change. Settle the level on a trial pour, since the air load depends on the mixer and on how far the mix is pumped.
How is defoamer packed and shipped?
Defoamer ships in 20 kg bags. Custom printing is available on all pack sizes and the artwork design is free of charge. The minimum order is 1 metric ton. Loading quantities for a 20-foot container are quoted per order. A free sample is available so you can run a trial mix before ordering.
